21 Wool Street
Nigeria 21 Wool Street is a zesty crochet world, full of textural but soft pieces that give an artful pop to any Gen Z or Millennial wardrobe. The brand’s designer Elizabeth Adedji comes from a long line of fashion conscious ancestors. Both her grandparents were tailors, handcrafting clothes for her and her siblings growing up. Her mother taught her how to sew and the budding entrepreneur then taught herself her crochet craft by watching YouTube tutorials. She then launched 21 Wool Street and hasn’t looked back. A finalist in both the British Council’s Nigerian Creative Enterprise Support programme and in the Topshop Fashion Design & Retail Grant, Adedji is going places. Best known for her trendy crochet bags, the brand’s statement - Jadesola bag - is part of hundreds of women’s wardrobes. It’s easy to see why - a textural, wide crochet knit with doll face lining, the size is daytime perfection. Big enough for all the essentials but cute and compact with lovely handles and a drawstring to keep all treasures hidden and safe. It will fast become your go-to bag if it hasn’t already…
