Elisabeth Kouadio Epse Akoto, Founder and Creator of Angelys, was immersed in the world of creativity from a very young age. Growing up in the world of her mother's ready-to-wear boutique, which has dressed women, men and children for over three decades, Elisabeth developed a deep appreciation for artistic expression. She learned the crafts of sewing and embroidery early, often creating her own garments by hand in her spare time. Her passion for artistic exploration extended to graphic design, which she enthusiastically pursued as a self-taught artist. In 2018, Elisabeth ventured into the world of jewelry, initially selling pieces for her mother. The breakthrough moment came in 2020 when she met a close friend who was making jewelry with Baoulé ropes and weights. Inspired by this encounter and driven by the desire to fuse modern style with her Akan cultural heritage, Elisabeth embarked on creating jewelry that would blend these influences in a unique way. During her maternity leave in 2021, Elisabeth found comfort and passion in creating her own jewelry. What started as a therapeutic escape quickly blossomed into a full-fledged passion project. The joy she felt designing, assembling and presenting each finished piece was immeasurable. Encouraged by the positive reactions and admiration of those around her, Elisabeth founded Angelys. The name itself pays homage to her mother, Angèle, and to herself, Elisabeth, symbolizing continuity and gratitude to her mother's profound impact on her creative journey.
