Our culture plays a major role in inspiring our designs and what we create. Every part of our home country Nigeria has a unique culture and traditions that we are able to re interpret in our design, that is the beauty of Nigeria and our continent Africa as a whole. Northern Nigeria is diverse and rich in culture, with some Arabian and Islamic influences. The Tangaran caps popularly called the Hausa caps are a major part of that culture amongst the Northern Nigerian men. These caps are meticulously and intricately handwoven by the finest weavers, which has made the caps so popular even amongst other cultures in Nigeria and around the world. The Tangaran caps have inspired our new Aso oke fabric designs, taking inspiration from the visual language of these artisanal beauties, made by Northern craftsmen, who pour their hearts into creating these masterpieces that we have woven into Asooke, and made into beautiful bags.
