This is somewhat personal and it simply connotes how a grudge can lead to lifetime enmity, which in turn can lead to a lifetime of regret. The subjects in this piece represent a mother and a child (in my case, it was myself and my late father) going through a discord. The child turns away while the mother faces her chores(doing their laundry).
I was inspired by a real life composite which mirrors a big rift I had with my father as at the time, we didn't speak and see each other for long but the time we got talking and was meant to see each other, I lost him. It was a really dark period for me and it left me void, full of regrets (I had all the time in the world to mend my relationship with my father, but I let us fall apart). This imagery inspires me somehow. I hope somebody else might resonate with it, we can still mend relationships before we fall apart forever.
