Afro-bohemian jewellery brand Jada Marshleys features recycled brass, animal bone, and animal horn jewellery made by skilled local artisans in Nairobi. Designer Marjorie Waithera attributes her cultural heritage and her mother’s personal style as inspiration behind her unique style. Marjorie started within the accessories space by selling Afro-style earrings made by local artisans. Her passion for jewellery design was ignited after being asked to design rings for a client. This resulted in the successful jewellery brand we see today. A tangible desire for each piece to reflect the adventurous, creative, and fashion-forward spirit of its wearer is felt throughout the collection. Marjorie’s idea is to spark conversations amongst like-minded individuals in a world that’s uniquely African but captures shapes, textures and colours that appeal to the global jewellery lover.
