Tell us about yourself, your work and your inspiration : Diipo Ayo-Adeusi is the Founder and Creative Director of Light in the Marketplace (LMP) and King & Consort. He is a fashion designer, image consultant, creative brand & communications consultant, stylist and costume designer with a desire to see everyone be the best version of themselves. Diipo’s style is ‘less is more’. He loves things simple and elegant; while focusing on precise fit and clean silhouettes with subtle but undeniable design details. He moved back to Nigeria in 2015 with a theater arts degree but could never really ignore his passion for fashion. He began his career by working as a costume designer on Nollywood movies such as ‘Collision Course’, ’Citation’ and ‘Banana Island Ghost’, which are all streaming on Netflix.. Diipo has also worked as a stylist on fashion projects with the likes of Supermodel, Naomi Campbell and international campaigns. However, he believed that styling should also benefit people outside the entertainment industry. In 2020, he realized that having the right appearance is a core part of how we express identity that everyone needs. Thus, he founded Light in the Marketplace to use his expertise in styling to help excellent minded individuals scale up in every aspect of their lives by focusing on having the right outward appearance to stand out at every occasion. In addition, he leverages on almost a decade worth of relationships he has built with designers to help curate style experiences for his clients. Blessed with an acute eye for detail, Diipo is specially skilled at guiding his clients with clarity on what attires best matches their vision in a stress-free process. In 2024, he fulfilled a long term vision of launching his made-to-order clothing brand, King & Consort, to create options for Nigerians with a desire to showcase their identity as leaders in their clothing. The brand infuses strong authentic historical Nigerian style elements with contemporary silhouettes in its designs. He believes that everyone, with the right outward appearance, amidst a few other key ingredients, can achieve greater; this is what we actively pursue at LMP.
