“Reimagining Afro-Contemporary Fashion” is the motto of Kenyan brand Mambo Pambo. And what a clever celebration of Africa this is! Established in 2014 by the visionary Kenyan designer Kawira Mirero, the brand weaves pops of Ankara print or Kenyan Kikoi fabric into simple, smart silhouettes that translate no matter the occasion. The name Mambo Pambo is Swahili for “all things decorative” and was coined out of a desire to capture the ethos of the brand – fusing creativity and design wisdom to create a premium lifestyle brand. Kawira strongly believes that dressing well shouldn’t be stressful and her pieces aim to transform how the wearer feels. She carries a strong belief that fashion should be size inclusive and transition across seasons. All of these core values translate into smart design features including sculptural snoods and contrast cuffs that bring colour in easy to wear ways.
