AGURU, an African fashion brand focused on modernizing traditional African prints for both men and women was founded by Solomon Garuba in 2024. AGURU is built on the idea of blending cultural heritage with contemporary style, creating pieces that feel timeless, bold, and authentic. My work revolves around designing clothing that tells a story. Each piece is inspired by African identity, everyday life, and the richness of our culture. I focus on turning traditional patterns and fabrics into modern silhouettes that people can wear confidently in both casual and elevated settings. What inspires me most is culture, resilience, and storytelling. Growing up, I saw how clothing can reflect identity and pride, and that shaped my passion for fashion. I am also inspired by the streets, local markets, music, and the creativity of young Africans who are constantly redefining style on their own terms. Through AGURU, I want to contribute to a global appreciation of African fashion while staying true to its roots. My goal is not just to create clothes, but to build a brand that represents heritage, confidence, and evolution. Every collection I work on is a reflection of where we come from and where we are going.
