Pendeza Weaving
Kenya Founded in 1980 in kisumu, kenya, pendeza weaving is a women-led social enterprise transforming lives through sustainable handweaving. rooted in local cotton farming and traditional textile heritage, pendeza empowers rural women in kisumu and siaya counties to engage in the full cotton value chain, from climate-smart farming and hand spinning to weaving and natural dyeing. our handcrafted scarves, throws, shawls, and fabrics are made from organic, locally sourced cotton and reflect our signature “cozy elegance”: timeless pieces that blend comfort, culture, and craftsmanship. weaving is also a therapeutic practice at pendeza, supporting women who have survived severe mental distress to rebuild confidence, community, and economic stability. over the years, pendeza has supported more than 100,000 women through skills training, mental wellness support, and sustainable livelihood programs. guided by values of heritage, sustainability, empowerment, and well-being, pendeza continues to innovate through solar-powered production and community-centered design.
