Gbemi Johnson is the Founder and Creative Head for O'Eclat Designs, an ethical and socially responsible handbag and accessories design label based in Lagos, Nigeria. Gbemi is a fashion entrepreneur with a love for her heritage. Built on the ethos of ethical and socially responsible production, this handbag and accessories brand is based in Lagos Nigeria.

Established in 2010, Gbemi founded O'Eclat Designs out of her love and passion to preserve traditional artisanal techniques, which she uses in the production of tasteful handbags and accessories. Gbemi is inspired to create beautiful accessories while making a positive impact at the same time. Her business strives to be impactful within her immediate community by employing skilled indigenous artisans to produce all of her handbags.

She also recently launched a project called Bag-to-School with O'Eclat which distributes school backpacks to less privileged pupils within the country.

The passion and perseverance to grow her business beyond the shores of her home country Nigeria has earned her several accolades, both locally and internationally. She has been nominated twice as finalist at the INDEPENDENT HANDBAG DESIGNER AWARD for Most Socially Responsible Handbag in 2015 and 2017.
