to see and be seen

This work explores the space between looking and being looked at. The eye is left uncovered, direct and focused, while a flame-shaped net moves across the skin, allowing parts of the face to show and others to remain layered. The pattern creates tension on the surface, suggesting protection, identity, and the marks life leaves behind. The piece reflects a simple truth: we observe the world, but we also live under observation. In the process, parts of us are revealed whether we intend it or not. It asks a direct question: When we look at others, what are we really seeing, and when attention turns toward us, what remains uncovered?
